Woodlands is a three-generation house nestled in the woods of Richmond, Vermont. The residence encompasses a variety of communal and private areas, enabling the balance necessary in a multigeneration household. Woodlands is deeply connected to its forest setting and strives to minimize its environmental impact: the house uses no fossil fuels, meets Vermont’s stringent energy stretch code, and was sited to connect to existing trails and outdoor spaces.
